Amelia and the Training Scale

Hi, I'm Amelia

I’m a Grand Prix rider and trainer, and one of the biggest mistakes I see riders make with flying changes is trying to teach the change before the horse (and rider) has the ingredients needed to perform it. Once your horse learns to do the change incorrectly, or gets confused about the aids, it is very difficult to correct.

That’s when riders start kicking harder, changing the aids, getting frustrated—and horses get tense and confused.

I created this checklist to help you take the guesswork out of the process.

Flying changes don’t have to feel mysterious.

You just need to know what to teach first.

Ready to find out if your horse is ready?

We did it!!

“This was so helpful! I didn’t think I was ready for flying changes, but after practicing the exercises in this PDF I felt like I could try. I am just so thrilled- he did it both ways. Thank you Amelia!”

This was what I was missing

“My Rosie is an expert at changes and she does them all the time with my trainer. But I was alwys being thrown around and she just seemed so stressed when I asked for them. After practicing Amelia’s exercises, I was so much more coordinated and now it feels so easy to do them!”
